Interim Management Accountant | Bradford | 3 Months | Up to £55,000 FTE Equivalent | Temp-to-Perm Opportunity

We're working with a rapidly growing, family-owned manufacturing and distribution business based in Bradford that needs an experienced Interim Management Accountant to join the team ASAP.

This is an opportunity for someone who is experienced, dynamic and unphased by pressure to come into a business that has been short-staffed and help get the finance function back on track.

There is a significant amount to get through initially, including a backlog of accounts, reconciliations and year-end work across multiple businesses within the Group.

At the same time, the business is going through a major systems change, moving from a collection of legacy systems including Sage 200 to SAP Business One, with go-live planned for 1 November.

So, this isn't a role where you'll be sitting back and waiting for the work to come to you.

You'll need to be comfortable rolling your sleeves up, getting stuck into the detail and making things happen.

The Role

Initially, your focus will be on helping the finance team get up to date and ready for the new system. You'll be involved in:

  • Bringing approximately four months of accounts up to date
  • Completing a significant backlog of reconciliations
  • Reviewing and resolving outstanding issues
  • Working across five businesses within the Group
  • Supporting year-end and audit activity
  • Identifying and correcting historic errors
  • Getting financial data clean and reconciled ahead of the SAP Business One migration
  • Supporting the implementation and transition to SAP Business One
  • Helping prepare the finance function for the launch of a new business
  • Working closely with the FD and Senior Management Accountant
  • Providing hands-on support to a seven-person finance team

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

The business has been operating with a finance resource gap for several weeks, so there is plenty to get your teeth into.

Once the immediate backlog has been brought under control, the focus will shift towards establishing a more structured month-end and management accounting routine, moving the finance function away from firefighting and towards producing reliable information that can actually help inform the wider business.

What We're Looking For

This is a role for an experienced Management Accountant who is comfortable operating in a busy, fast-moving environment.

You'll ideally have:

  • Strong Management Accounting experience
  • Sage 200 experience - essential
  • Previous experience within manufacturing - essential
  • Highly developed reconciliation skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience dealing with large volumes of financial data
  • The ability to identify and resolve discrepancies
  • Experience supporting year-end and audit
  • Confidence working across multiple entities
  • Strong Excel skills
  • A hands-on and proactive approach

You'll need to be someone who remains calm under pressure, doesn't get flustered when faced with a backlog and can work through problems methodically.

They're looking for someone experienced enough to see what needs doing and simply get on with it.

Why Consider It?

This is a particularly interesting time to join the business.

You'll be coming in at a point where the finance team needs additional support, while simultaneously undergoing a major systems transformation and continuing to grow.

That means you'll have the opportunity to:

  • Make an immediate impact
  • Help bring a finance function back under control
  • Work across multiple businesses within a growing Group
  • Play a key role in a major SAP Business One implementation
  • Get involved in the launch of a new business
  • Work closely with the FD and senior finance team
  • Help establish a more effective month-end routine
  • Move the business from firefighting to reliable, meaningful financial information

The initial requirement is for 3 months, with the potential for the right person to continue on a longer-term / permanent basis.

If you're an experienced Management Accountant with strong Sage 200 and manufacturing experience, and you're available to start quickly, this could be an excellent opportunity to get stuck into a genuinely interesting project.
