Interim Managing Director
Building Materials Manufacturing

Wilson Brook is working exclusively with a well-established building materials manufacturer, operating as a division of a larger group, to appoint an experienced Interim Managing Director.
This is a substantial and highly visible leadership assignment, with responsibility for bringing together several connected operations and creating a more cohesive, efficient and higher-performing business.
The successful candidate will take full responsibility for business performance, providing immediate leadership across manufacturing, commercial, operational and functional teams. They will inherit an organisation with strong products, established customer relationships and experienced employees, but one that requires greater alignment, clearer accountability and a more disciplined operating rhythm.

Alongside improving day-to-day performance, the Interim MD will lead a significant programme of operational change. This is likely to include business integration, manufacturing and warehouse optimisation, systems improvement, and organisational development.
This is not a remote, advisory or purely strategic assignment. The successful candidate will need to be highly visible, spend significant time within the operations and work directly with managers and employees to understand the detail, build confidence and deliver change.
We are seeking an experienced Managing Director, Divisional MD, General Manager or professional interim executive who can demonstrate:
- Leadership of a credible building materials, construction products or closely related manufacturing business.
- Full P&L accountability within a medium-sized SME, division or business unit.
- Strong manufacturing, operational and commercial leadership.
- Successful delivery of turnaround, performance improvement, integration or restructuring programmes.
- Experience of operational transformation.
- The ability to lead sensitively through uncertainty while increasing pace, accountability and performance.
- A practical, hands-on and data-led leadership style.
- Immediate or short-term availability.

The role will be based predominantly in the Midlands, with travel to other UK sites as required. It is expected to be structured as an initial fixed-term interim assignment, with an attractive executive package and performance-related incentive.
