I’m working with an established UK manufacturer within the lighting sector that has its own manufacturing and R&D capability, a strong portfolio of innovative products and an impressive track record of product development.

They are now looking for a hands-on Freelance Marketing & Brand Manager to help take their brand, product and channel marketing to the next level. They have a really strong Sales strategy in place, along with a great Product strategy, and now need someone to elevate their Marketing activity.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

This is a role for someone who can develop the strategy and then roll their sleeves up and deliver it. You’ll work across B2B/channel marketing, product launches, brand development, social media, content and video, creating campaigns that engage electrical wholesalers, contractors and installers and deliver measurable commercial results.

The ideal person will have strong B2B marketing experience, ideally within a manufacturing, trade, distribution, electrical, construction or building products environment. You’ll need to be equally comfortable developing a campaign strategy and then delivering it, creating content and creative assets, working with video and using analytics to understand what is working.
