Interim Merchandiser | London

To £45k DOE | Rolling Contract | hybrid and flexible working

Fancy joining a retail business where you can genuinely see the impact of your merchandising decisions?

We're working on a confidential Merchandiser opportunity with a brilliant specialist retailer. With a store base and a growing e-commerce operation and a huge range of products, this is a hands-on role for a commercially minded Merchandiser who loves getting into the detail of stock, sales and trading.

This is an initial 3-6 month contract, with the potential to roll month by month.

The Role

You'll sit at the heart of the commercial operation, making sure the right product is in the right place, at the right time and in the right quantities across stores and online.

Working closely with Buying, E-commerce, Marketing, and stores, and suppliers, you'll take ownership of the merchandising and trading activity across your area.

You'll be involved in:

  • Owning and managing the WSSI and OTB, ensuring sales, stock and profitability targets are achieved
  • Forecasting sales and stock requirements and making commercially sound trading decisions
  • Managing stock levels across stores, e-commerce and the distribution centre
  • Analysing weekly, monthly and seasonal sales and stock performance
  • Identifying bestsellers, slow movers and key commercial opportunities
  • Making recommendations around range, stock flow and inventory levels
  • Managing availability and reacting quickly to changing customer demand
  • Working closely with Buying and suppliers to manage orders, deliveries and supply issues
  • Identifying opportunities to reduce excess stock and improve stock productivity
  • Supporting range exits, delists and stock exit plans
  • Providing clear analysis and recommendations to drive commercial performance
  • Working cross-functionally with Buying, E-commerce, Retail, Marketing, VM and Warehouse teams
  • Coaching and supporting the Assistant Merchandising team

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

We're particularly interested in Merchandisers from environments such as DIY/hardware, beauty, outdoor, or other fast-paced multi-channel retailers where stock management and commercial trading are key.

You'll be joining a relatively small commercial team, so this is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being hands-on, visible and close to the numbers, rather than getting lost in layers of corporate process.

If you're a Merchandiser looking for an immediate contract where you can really make a difference, we'd love to hear from you!
