Interim Senior NHS HR Business Partner (Band 8a or 8b)
Business Partnering & Workforce Transformation
Location: South West London (Hybrid, 1-2 days per week onsite)
Rate: £400-£500 per day
Contract: Interim Assignment to approx March 27
Start Date: Within 4 Weeks Preferred
Our NHS client is seeking an experienced Interim Senior HR Business Partner to support a significant workforce transformation programme while providing strategic and operational HR leadership to senior stakeholders across the organisation.
This is a high-profile interim opportunity for a credible HR leader with extensive NHS experience and a proven track record of delivering complex organisational change, restructuring, and workforce transformation programmes.
Working closely with the Head of HR & Change, you will help drive key change initiatives, manage complex people matters, and support leaders through a challenging and evolving workforce agenda.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support large-scale workforce transformation and organisational change programmes.
- Partner with senior leaders, providing pragmatic and commercially focused HR advice.
- Support redundancy, redeployment, and consultation processes.
- Lead TUPE and/or COSOP consultation activity.
- Manage complex employee relations cases and organisational change issues.
- Deputise for the Head of HR & Change where required.
- Ensure robust governance, workforce reporting, and programme administration.
- Represent the organisation at external meetings and stakeholder forums.
- Identify risks and develop practical solutions to maintain programme momentum.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Significant experience operating as a Senior HR Business Partner within the NHS.
- Essential NHS experience with a strong understanding of NHS structures, workforce policies, and governance arrangements.
- Proven experience delivering complex restructuring, consultation, and organisational change programmes.
- Experience supporting redundancy, redeployment, and workforce redesign activity.
- Strong employee relations expertise, including management of complex and sensitive casework.
- Experience leading or supporting TUPE and/or COSOP consultations.
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills at senior leadership level.
- Strong analytical capability, including advanced Excel skills and workforce reporting experience.
- The ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities, and maintain credibility in a fast-paced environment.
