Interim Organisation Design Specialist
£500-550 per day | Outside IR35
October - December 2026 | Approx. 2 Days Per Week | Hybrid
We're supporting a national not-for-profit membership organisation undergoing a significant Target Operating Model review and seeking an experienced Organisation Design Specialist to support a critical phase of future-state design.
Working closely with senior leaders, you'll help develop, test and cost operating model options, ensuring organisational structures, workflows and capabilities are aligned to strategic objectives and are practical to deliver.
The Role
- Develop and evaluate future operating model options
- Lead organisation design, process design and service design activity
- Review structures, roles, capabilities and organisational dependencies
- Map and analyse end-to-end workflows, identifying bottlenecks, hand-offs, duplication and opportunities to improve organisational effectiveness
- Assess how work flows through current and proposed operating models and whether structures support service delivery objectives
- Model and cost future-state organisation designs
- Produce target establishment and gap analysis outputs
- Test operating model options against key cross-functional business processes
- Provide challenge, insight and practical recommendations to senior stakeholders
- Develop tools and methodologies to support ongoing design activity

About You
- Strong Organisation Design and Target Operating Model expertise
- Experience delivering organisation-wide redesign programmes
- Service and process design capability
- Experience analysing workflows, decision points, accountabilities and organisational effectiveness
- A track record of translating strategy into practical organisational solutions
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
- Experience working with Executive Teams and contributing to Board-level decision-making
- The ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery

Contract Details
- £500-550 per day
- Outside IR35
- Approx. 2 days per week
- Hybrid working (occasional travel to London office)
- October to December 2026
- Potential extension into 2027
