MLA is currently working with a leading UK regulated payments and fintech business that is looking to appoint an experienced Interim Regulatory & Commercial Counsel on an initial 3-6 month contract.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-paced, high-growth organisation at the forefront of the payments sector, supporting a broad range of regulatory, commercial and strategic business initiatives.

The successful candidate is likely to have 7-8 years' PQE and will bring strong experience advising within the payments, fintech or wider financial services sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advising on regulatory matters and business change initiatives
  • Supporting commercial contracting activities across the business
  • Providing pragmatic legal guidance on product development projects
  • Managing day-to-day legal issues and stakeholder queries
  • Partnering with senior stakeholders across multiple business functions

Requirements

  • Approximately 7-8 years' PQE
  • Strong regulatory and commercial legal experience within payments, fintech or regulated financial services
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities effectively
  • Experience engaging with a broad range of internal stakeholders
  • Comfortable operating in a dynamic, fast-growing environment
  • Available immediately or at short notice
