About Focus Group

Focus Group is a £300m-revenue, 1,400-person technology services company backed by Hg Capital. Following our $1bn valuation in 2024, we're scaling rapidly and investing in AI to transform how we operate and how we serve our 30,000 SME customers.

The role

We're looking for an experienced Interim Payroll Manager to join us on a fixed-term/contract basis while we recruit for a permanent hire. You'll be able to start immediately and hit the ground running, taking ownership of the end-to-end payroll function across our group of companies.

This is a hands-on role covering multi-entity payroll (predominantly CIPHR, with some Sage), managing a small payroll team, and acting as the go-to expert for payroll compliance and stakeholder queries during the interim period.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
