About the Role

Stagecoach Group is seeking an experienced and commercially minded People Advisor to join our People Team on an interim basis for an initial six-month contract, with the potential for extension. Supporting a large, operationally focused and highly unionised business, you will play a key role in delivering our people agenda by providing expert advice and guidance across a broad range of employee relations and people-related matters.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Providing practical, commercially focused advice, coaching and guidance to managers on a wide range of people-related matters.
  • Managing a varied and complex employee relations caseload, ensuring fair, consistent and legally compliant outcomes.
  • Supporting managers through disciplinary, grievance, absence management and performance-related processes.
  • Building strong working relationships with operational and functional leaders across the business.
  • Working closely with People Partners and Senior People Partners, escalating cases and seeking support where appropriate.
  • Contributing to the delivery of key people initiatives and business priorities during a period of organisational change.
  • Ensuring HR policies and procedures are applied consistently and in line with employment legislation and best practice.

What You'll Need

  • Proven experience working as an HR Advisor, People Advisor, or in a similar generalist HR role within a large and complex organisation.
  • Experience operating within a unionised environment, including supporting employee relations activity.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment legislation, with TUPE experience or knowledge highly desirable.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence at all levels.
  • A pragmatic, solution-focused approach and the confidence to work independently.
  • CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience within transport, logistics, manufacturing, utilities, or another operationally focused environment would be advantageous.
