Interim Project Accountant (12-Month FTC) - £75,000 - £85,000
North West - Hybrid Working (1-2 days in the office/week)

Sellick Partnership is delighted to be partnering with a large, private equity-backed organisation in the North West in their search for an experienced Project Accountant on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a business undergoing a significant period of growth and transformation. Working across a diverse portfolio of finance, technology and operational projects, you will provide financial support, insight and challenge to ensure key strategic initiatives deliver measurable value and achieve their objectives.

The successful candidate will work closely with senior stakeholders, project teams and transformation leads, playing a pivotal role in financial governance, business case development and benefits realisation across a range of high-profile projects.

The Role

As Project Accountant, you will support the delivery of a broad range of finance, technology and operational transformation initiatives, providing financial expertise throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Partnering with project sponsors and senior stakeholders to develop robust business cases and investment proposals.
  • Providing financial support across a portfolio of finance, technology and operational projects.
  • Building financial models, investment appraisals and scenario analyses to support strategic decision-making.
  • Reviewing and challenging assumptions, costs, benefits and risks to ensure projects remain commercially viable.
  • Supporting project prioritisation through detailed financial and commercial analysis.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective benefits tracking and value realisation processes.
  • Monitoring project performance against approved business cases and identifying any variances or risks.
  • Producing insightful reporting on project costs, benefits and return on investment.
  • Supporting budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities across multiple project workstreams.
  • Ensuring robust financial governance and controls are maintained throughout project delivery.
  • Building strong relationships with stakeholders across Finance, IT, Operations and the wider business.
  • Driving continuous improvement in project reporting, financial modelling and governance processes.

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification.
  • Previous experience within Project Accounting, Commercial Finance, FP&A or Finance Business Partnering.
  • Experience supporting transformation, change or business improvement programmes.
  • Strong financial modelling, business case and investment appraisal skills.
  • Excellent commercial awareness and analytical capability.
  • The ability to influence and challenge stakeholders at all levels.
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong financial systems knowledge.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Salary: £75,000 - £85,000
