Interim Head of Care - Mental Health Residential Service

Role Summary
Due to ongoing strategic growth and the upcoming opening of a new residential facility, our Client is seeking an experienced Interim Head of Care to lead the mobilisation phase of this vital service. This leadership role is critical in establishing a strong operational foundation ahead of residents' arrival, enabling a smooth, safe transition from setup to fully operational service. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a tangible, immediate impact during a pivotal period, ensuring the service launches effectively and sustainably.

Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and hands-on leadership during the mobilisation period to ensure all preparations are on track for opening.
- Support staff recruitment, onboarding, and induction to build a competent and motivated team.
- Develop and implement operational policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and safety protocols.
- Coordinate with senior management and external stakeholders to meet project milestones and service readiness objectives.
- Oversee daily operational planning, ensuring high-quality service design and staff capability development.
- Maintain momentum and adapt plans as needed to meet tight deadlines and shifting priorities.
- Ensure the development of a positive working environment that promotes safe, effective, and person-centred care.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven interim management experience within health, social care, or residential settings.
- Demonstrated success in mobilising or launching new services, or managing significant operational change.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide multidisciplinary teams and engage senior stakeholders.
- Experience in staff onboarding, team development, and operational planning under tight timeframes.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements within care environments (regulatory experience beneficial).
- Ability to adapt rapidly, organise priorities, and deliver results at pace.
- Confidence in setting up effective working practices and operational procedures.

Desirable Skills & Experience
- Experience working within mental health care environments.
- Knowledge of CQC standards and compliance requirements.
- Past involvement in projects related to discharge-focused or community-based care models.
