Interim Regulatory Counsel (Retail Investments) | 6-Month Contract
Immediate Interim Opportunity | Financial Services | Retail Investments
We are working with a leading financial services organisation seeking an experienced Regulatory Counsel to join its in-house legal team on an initial 6-month contract. This role sits within a growing retail investment business and offers the opportunity to support a range of high-profile regulatory, commercial and strategic initiatives.
The Role
Working closely with product, commercial, compliance, and senior leadership teams, you will provide pragmatic legal advice across a broad spectrum of UK financial services regulatory matters impacting retail investment products and customer propositions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Advising on UK financial services regulation affecting retail investment and savings products
- Supporting product development, enhancement, and governance initiatives
- Translating complex regulatory requirements into practical, commercially focused advice
- Advising on customer journeys, customer communications, and retail investment documentation
- Supporting regulatory change projects and strategic business initiatives
- Reviewing and negotiating a range of commercial agreements and third-party arrangements
- Partnering with risk, compliance, and business stakeholders to balance legal and commercial objectives
- Managing legal matters autonomously within a fast-paced environment

About You
- Qualified lawyer with at least approximately 5+ years' PQE
- Strong UK financial services regulatory experience
- Background gained within retail investments, wealth management, asset management, fintech, or broader consumer financial services
- Knowledge of investment and savings products, including ISAs, SIPPs, and other retail investment propositions
- Experience advising on regulatory change, product governance, customer-facing documentation, and commercial contracts
- Commercially astute with the ability to influence stakeholders across legal, business, risk, and compliance functions
- Comfortable operating independently in a dynamic environment

Contract Details
- Hybrid working
