Interim Sales Leader – Sheffield

Location: Sheffield (hybrid, with regular on-site presence)
Engagement: 6-month contract
Rate: Competitive day rate, dependent on experience

About the opportunity

We're working with a growing Sheffield business that has strong demand and a motivated sales team, but no consistent way of turning that into predictable revenue. They're looking for an experienced sales leader to step in on a 6-month contract, bring structure and lead the team through the change.

This is a hands-on role. You'll be in the detail with the team, coaching reps on live deals, tightening up how they sell and leaving behind a process the business can run without you.

What you'll be doing

  • Reviewing the current sales approach, pipeline and team performance, then agreeing a clear plan for the first 90 days
  • Designing and implementing a scalable, repeatable sales process from first conversation through to close
  • Writing and rolling out call scripts, discovery frameworks, objection handling guides and email and LinkedIn outreach templates
  • Setting up pipeline stages, qualification criteria and forecasting so leadership has real visibility of what's coming in
  • Managing and coaching the sales team day to day, including one to ones, call shadowing, deal reviews and performance conversations
  • Establishing sensible KPIs, targets and reporting rhythms, and making sure the CRM is used properly
  • Assessing the team's strengths and gaps, and advising on hiring, development and structure
  • Documenting everything so the process can be handed over to a permanent sales leader or the existing team

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
