Location: London - Hybrid working

This is an exciting opportunity to join Deloitte Operations for an engagement with one of our clients.

The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled SAP Payroll Technical Specialist to join our team and support the maintenance and configuration of our SAP Payroll systems. This critical role focuses on ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and smooth operation of our payroll solutions during ongoing operations and future roadmap initiatives.

This role reports to the Head of HR Systems (Technology) and is part of the team responsible for IT service delivery across Payroll and Reward domains for Deloitte’s UK and Swiss firms. You will play a key role in maintaining our SAP Payroll landscape and supporting future system enhancements and roadmap projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and configure SAP ECC6 UK Payroll and SAP S4/HANA UK Payroll systems with deep technical expertise.
  • Ensure compliance with UK payroll legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Analyse and advise on SAP Payroll system configurations during implementation and roadmap phases.
  • Collaborate closely with HR, IT, and project teams to support payroll operations and system changes.
  • Provide technical leadership and troubleshooting expertise for payroll processing and system integration.

Experience & Skills Required

  • Extensive hands-on experience with SAP ECC6 UK Payroll or SAP S4/HANA UK Payroll, including configuration and maintenance.
  • Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with SAP Employee Central Payroll UK is desirable but secondary.
  • Proven ability to analyse complex payroll configurations and provide technical recommendations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in a high-pressure payroll environment.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience working in virtual, globally distributed teams is advantageous.
