Inside IR35
Initial six-month contract with potential to become permanent
Location: London
We are supporting a rapidly growing international renewable-energy business in the appointment of an Interim Group FP&A Manager. The organisation develops, acquires and operates utility-scale solar, onshore wind and battery-storage assets and is expanding its portfolio across several international markets.
Reporting directly to the CFO, this is a senior and highly visible appointment responsible for strengthening the group’s financial planning, forecasting and management-reporting capability. The successful candidate will establish robust group-wide processes, improve the quality of financial information and provide meaningful challenge and insight to operating entities and senior leadership.
The role requires a combination of strong technical accounting, sophisticated FP&A capability and the commercial judgement needed to operate effectively within a growing, asset-intensive organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain accurate financial forecasting across the group and its operating entities.
- Build, maintain and review integrated three-statement forecasts at subsidiary and consolidated-group level.
- Design and implement annual budgeting templates, updated outlooks and group-wide planning processes.
- Coordinate submissions from international subsidiaries and challenge the quality of their assumptions and forecasts.
- Analyse actual performance against budget and forecast across the income statement, balance sheet and cash flow.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly reporting for executive management and the Board.
- Support the development of long-term business plans and assess the impact of changes to operational assumptions.
- Partner with business development, M&A and treasury teams on major transactions and group forecasts.
- Monitor debt covenants and perform sensitivity analysis around operational and financial assumptions.
- Support audit requirements, including impairment reviews and going-concern analysis.
- Work closely with the group reporting team to understand results and maintain consistency between reporting and forecasting.
- Support the implementation of forecasting technology and wider ERP and reporting improvements.
- Develop scalable FP&A processes capable of supporting continued international growth.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
