Interim Senior Finance Business Partner – Product & Technology

£500 – £650 per day | Inside IR35 | Glasgow | Hybrid – Flexible | Initial 6-Month Contract | Potential Permanent Opportunity

Talent Finance are partnering with a high-growth, international software business to recruit an experienced Interim Senior Finance Business Partner for an initial six-month assignment.

This is a senior, hands-on opportunity taking ownership of finance across a £100m+ Product & Technology cost base within a fast-paced, evolving organisation.

We're looking for someone who can come in, quickly get under the skin of the numbers and take ownership of the day-to-day finance operation – bringing clarity, control and strong commercial insight to senior stakeholders across the business.

This is very much a hands-on, operational finance leadership role. You'll be responsible for ensuring the BAU finance operation runs effectively rather than joining to deliver a standalone project.

For someone who thrives within software, technology and fast-paced PE-backed environments, this is a great opportunity to take on a substantial remit with significant senior stakeholder exposure.

There is also the potential for the opportunity to become permanent following the initial six-month assignment.

The Role

Reporting into a senior FP&A leader, you'll take responsibility for finance across the Product & Technology function and become a key finance partner to its senior leadership team.

You'll have responsibility for a significant cost base and will need to combine strong FP&A capability with the confidence to challenge, influence and provide meaningful insight.

Your remit will include:

  • Taking ownership of finance across a £100m+ Product & Technology cost base
  • Leading monthly reporting and forecasting across the function
  • Acting as a senior Finance Business Partner to Product & Technology leadership
  • Providing clear financial insight, challenge and recommendations
  • Understanding key cost drivers and explaining performance against forecast
  • Leading budgeting and forecasting activity for your area
  • Managing month-end activity and ensuring accurate and timely reporting
  • Maintaining oversight of headcount, recruitment and contractor costs
  • Working closely with stakeholders to understand future investment and resource requirements
  • Coordinating the finance team supporting Product & Technology, including Finance Business Partner and Analyst-level support
  • Setting priorities and ensuring key finance activities are delivered to deadline
  • Improving the quality, consistency and usefulness of financial reporting
  • Maintaining strong financial controls and ensuring key processes are clearly documented
  • Working across Finance and the wider organisation to resolve issues quickly
  • Supporting continuous improvement across the finance operation
  • Ensuring a structured and effective handover at the end of the assignment

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

For an experienced Senior Finance Business Partner who enjoys software, technology, pace, complexity and being genuinely embedded within the business, this is a particularly interesting opportunity.

Location & Hybrid Working

The role is based in Glasgow and operates on a hybrid basis.

Ideally, the business would like someone in the office around two days per week, particularly to build relationships and work closely with key stakeholders.

However, there is flexibility around office attendance for the right person, so we'd still encourage strong candidates to get in touch if a more flexible arrangement is required.
