Interim Senior Finance Manager
West End London
£80,000
Please note the requirement is to be in the office five days a week as this is a hands-on role.
Strong book-keeping skills essential for this three-month contract.
Accounting
- Responsible for the accounting and month-end close including invoice approvals, payment approvals, journal posting, and the preparation of monthly consolidated management accounts.
- Supervise the accounts payable function, ensuring accurate coding and efficient approval workflows.
- Responsible for overseeing outsourced payroll and PAYE filing.
- Preparation and filing of VAT and CIS (where applicable).
- Other filings as required.
Financial Reporting
- Assist in the preparation of accurate board reporting packs.
- Deliver clear, insightful ad-hoc analysis for senior stakeholders.
- Liaise with auditors to ensure timely and accurate statutory reporting.
Forecasting & Planning
- Own short-term cash flow forecasting (weekly and monthly) at both project and corporate level.
- Lead annual budgeting and long-term cash flow planning.
- Provide ongoing performance tracking against budget and forecast.

Business Partnering & Commercial Insight
- Act as the lead finance partner to the Strategic Land and Land Promotion teams.
- Support investment decisions through clear financial analysis and insight.
- Challenge and support senior non-finance stakeholders.
- Attend sales meetings and other project-related meetings.
Financial Modelling
- Build and maintain financial models for individual land sites (both speculative and live).
- Perform scenario and sensitivity analysis to support strategic decision-making.
Controls & Governance
- Ensure robust cost allocation and financial controls across land projects.
- Monitor project performance against budget and identify risks/opportunities.
- Drive continuous improvement in financial processes and controls.
Other
- Tracking sales and expenditure in relation to the wind-down of the house-building business.
- Assist with the wind-down of the house-building business – including VAT deregistration, VAT, final accounts for SPVs, and strike-off.
- Any other related tasks in relation to the house-building business.

Candidate Profile
- ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified.
- 5+ years’ experience in a finance or business partnering role.
- Experience in property, real estate, or housebuilding preferred.
- Strong financial modelling and advanced Excel skills.
- Commercially astute with strong attention to detail.
- Confident engaging and influencing senior stakeholders.
- Proven experience partnering with operational teams.
