Interim Senior Communications Manager

As Interim Senior Communications Manager, you will lead internal communications and change engagement activity across a complex national organisation, ensuring colleagues are informed, engaged, and connected to strategic priorities. Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will develop and deliver impactful communications campaigns that support organisational transformation, employee engagement, and continuous improvement.

Description

  • Lead the development and delivery of internal communications strategies, campaigns, and content aligned to organisational objectives.
  • Drive change communications activity across key modernisation and transformation programmes.
  • Create engaging communication plans and content that simplify complex initiatives for internal audiences.
  • Enhance internal engagement channels and identify opportunities to leverage emerging digital communication tools and technologies.
  • Provide strategic communications advice and guidance to senior leaders and stakeholders across the organisation.
  • Champion communications best practice, ensuring initiatives are insight-led, measurable, and continuously improved.
  • Develop clear evaluation frameworks to measure the effectiveness and impact of communication activities.
  • Support the implementation of a new communications and engagement plan, helping embed organisational strategy and priorities.

Profile

A successful Interim Senior Communications Manager should have:

  • Proven experience developing and delivering internal communications strategies within large or complex organisations.
  • Strong track record of leading change communications programmes and organisational transformation initiatives.
  • Ability to translate complex information into clear, engaging, and audience-focused messaging.
  • Experience using insight, performance data, and evaluation techniques to measure communications effectiveness.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience producing content across multiple channels and formats.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the confidence to influence and advise senior leaders.
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality delivery.

Job Offer

  • Daily rate between £450 and £575 dependent on the level of experience.
  • Temporary contract offering flexibility.
