Interim Senior Leader Opportunity- Primary School, Northamptonshire

Role Summary

Panoramic Associates is supporting a primary school in Northamptonshire who require an interim Senior Leader to add capacity across the school, supporting with day-to-day management, enabling the existing SLT to focus on strategic development, and to maintain the schools high standards especially in behaviour and safeguarding, until longer-term arrangements are secured.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take responsibility for managing and resolving escalated behaviour incidents, supporting staff with effective behaviour strategies
  • Provide visible leadership within the school to ensure consistent application of behaviour and safeguarding policies
  • Lead safeguarding initiatives, attend multi-agency safeguarding meetings, and ensure compliance with statutory requirements
  • Monitor and improve attendance, attending relevant meetings and supporting staff with attendance initiatives
  • Engage with parents and the wider community on day-to-day operational matters and behaviour concerns
  • Oversee daily organisational systems, ensuring key processes are functioning efficiently and following up on necessary actions

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven leadership experience in a primary school setting, ideally as a Headteacher, Head of School, or senior leadership role
  • Strong background in behaviour management and safeguarding, with the ability to handle complex situations confidently
  • Experience in operational school management, including staffing, attendance, and day-to-day organisational oversight
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate a high level of professionalism and discretion
  • Knowledge of statutory responsibilities and compliance requirements in a primary education context
