Location: London (Hybrid)
Day Rate: Competitive
Duration: Initial 6-12 month contract
A high-growth international fintech business is seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join its Corporate Legal team on an interim basis. This is an outstanding opportunity to work at the heart of a globally recognised technology company, supporting strategic transactions and advising senior stakeholders on a broad range of corporate matters.
The successful candidate will operate as a senior member of a lean, high-performing legal team, providing commercial and pragmatic advice across complex cross-border projects in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead on significant corporate transactions, including:
- M&A
- Strategic investments
- Equity and debt financings
- Corporate reorganisations
- Advise on a wide range of non-transactional corporate matters, including:
- Treasury and intra-group financing
- Corporate governance
- Employee incentive and equity plans
- Investor-related matters
- ESG initiatives
- Real estate projects
- Partner closely with legal and business stakeholders across multiple functions, including commercial, regulatory, finance, tax, and treasury teams.
- Support international expansion initiatives, including regulatory licensing projects.
- Manage external counsel and coordinate legal support across multiple jurisdictions.
- Help develop and improve legal processes, governance frameworks, and operational efficiencies.

Candidate Profile
- Qualified lawyer from a common law jurisdiction (England & Wales, US, or equivalent).
- At least Ideally 6+ years' PQE with strong corporate transactional experience.
- Trained and qualified at a leading international law firm.
- Proven experience advising on complex cross-border M&A and financing transactions.
- Commercially minded with a pragmatic approach to risk management.
- Comfortable working independently and handling multiple stakeholders in a fast-moving environment.
- Strong communication skills and ability to influence senior business leaders.

Desirable Experience
- Fintech, payments, or broader technology sector experience.
- Previous in-house experience (including secondments).
- Private fundraising and investment transaction exposure.
- Experience advising on employee share schemes, governance matters, real estate, or intellectual property issues.
