Interim SHE Manager
3-Month Contract | Inside IR35 | £400-£600 per day (PAYE via Umbrella)
We are supporting a leading UK manufacturing organisation in the search for an experienced Interim SHE Manager to provide immediate leadership at one of its largest operational sites. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior Health, Safety & Environmental professional who enjoys being visible on site, leading from the front and driving a positive safety culture within a fast-paced, high-risk manufacturing environment. The contract will initially run to bridge the gap while a permanent appointment is made (initially 3-months).
Contract Details
- Contract: Initial 3 months
- Location: East Suffolk. Site-based with some flexibility where appropriate
- IR35: Inside IR35
- Rate: £400-£600 per day (PAYE via Umbrella), depending on experience
- Start: Immediate
The Role
Reporting into the senior leadership team, you will provide operational SHE leadership across a large manufacturing facility with an established safety culture and central SHE support. Rather than firefighting compliance issues, the focus is on continuing to develop behaviours, engagement and accountability across the site while supporting ongoing improvement projects. You will also mentor and coach an existing SHE Coordinator, helping to develop their leadership capability and influencing skills.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
