Interim Site Director – Food Manufacturing (6-Month Initial Contract)
Overview
An exciting opportunity for an experienced Interim Site Director to lead the turnaround of an underperforming food manufacturing facility. This role will focus on transforming site performance, driving operational excellence and increasing production capacity to deliver a high-performing, efficient operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the turnaround of a low-capacity manufacturing site, driving performance to full operational capability.
- Take full accountability for site performance, including operational, financial and people metrics.
- Develop and deliver a clear turnaround strategy focused on productivity, efficiency and profitability.
- Drive continuous improvement and process optimisation across all manufacturing operations.
- Own and manage the site’s P&L, identifying opportunities to improve margins and reduce costs.
- Build a high-performance culture through strong leadership and stakeholder engagement.
- Ensure operational excellence across production, quality, health & safety and delivery.
- Identify and implement sustainable efficiencies that support long-term growth.
- Provide strategic leadership while maintaining a hands-on approach to site operations.

Essential Experience
- Proven experience as a Site Director or senior operational leader within food or drink manufacturing.
- Strong track record of leading site turnarounds or major transformation programmes.
- Extensive experience driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Commercially minded with full P&L responsibility.
- Ability to identify efficiencies, improve productivity and maximise site performance.
- Strategic thinker with excellent leadership and change management skills.
- Confident engaging with senior stakeholders and leading cross-functional teams.
