About the role

English National Ballet is seeking Interim Stage Manager(s) to support our Autumn Tour and seasonal performance programme. Engagements are available across a range of productions and rehearsal periods, including the below.

We welcome applications from candidates who are available for some, but not all, of these dates. We are open to appointing multiple Interim Stage Managers to cover different productions, venues, or periods of the tour.

Nutcracker

  • Rehearsals at MCD: w/c 9 November to w/c 23 November 2026, and w/c 7 December 2026
  • London Coliseum performances: w/c 14 December 2026 to w/c 4 January 2027

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Stage Management team to provide a reliable and effective service for all aspects of production, at MCD or any designated venue, on national tours.
  • Ensure the safe and smooth running of rehearsals and performances.
  • Oversee the conduct, safety and general welfare of all staff working backstage, with due care and attention to all relevant company and safety procedures.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Extensive experience in large-scale professional productions in a performing arts environment.
  • Experience of touring with large scale productions and understanding of requirements for national touring.
  • Ability to work safely backstage in technical areas, where lighting will be dimmed at times during the production.
