Working Pattern: Monday to Friday | Predominantly site-based initially

An established food manufacturing business is looking to appoint an Interim Supplier Technologist to provide additional support to its Technical team during a particularly busy period of supplier assurance and specification activity.

This is a hands-on technical role focused on supporting a high volume of supplier information and specification activity, bringing records up to date and ensuring accurate, compliant technical information is maintained across the business.

The role combines supplier assurance with specifications work, with the majority of specification activity focused on raw materials. You'll work across a broad range of food categories, reviewing supplier information, specifications and risk assessments while ensuring data is accurately maintained across internal systems.

This would suit an experienced Supplier Technologist, Specifications Technologist or Food Technologist who is technically confident, highly organised and comfortable getting stuck into detailed technical work from day one.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Review and approve raw material specifications across a broad range of food categories
  • Check specifications for accuracy, legislative compliance and adherence to internal technical requirements
  • Work with suppliers to obtain and review up-to-date ingredient, raw material and technical information
  • Review supplier approval documentation and ensure required information is complete and accurately recorded
  • Gather supplier information to support risk assessments and supplier assurance activity
  • Complete and review technical risk assessments, including microbiological information where relevant
  • Maintain and update supplier databases, compliance declarations, specifications and technical records
  • Liaise with suppliers regarding technical requirements including Certificates of Analysis and positive release requirements
  • Support supplier approval and monitoring activity, including desktop and on-site supplier audits where required
  • Support the investigation and resolution of supplier-related non-conformances and complaints
  • Maintain packaging specification information and supporting documentation
  • Work closely with the wider Food Technologist team on specification completion and general technical updates
  • Manage a steady flow of specifications and supplier information while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
