The Opportunity
Our client is a fast-growing, PE-backed group operating across a number of consumer and service-based sectors. Following recent corporate activity and continued expansion, they are looking to appoint an experienced interim tax professional to help drive a significant tax agenda across the business.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on tax specialist who enjoys working in a dynamic environment where they can make a genuine impact. The successful individual will work closely with senior finance leadership to address historical matters, establish robust processes, and take ownership of the group's ongoing tax obligations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the group's VAT compliance and reporting activities.
- Manage corporation tax compliance across multiple entities including capital allowances.
- Support post-transaction tax projects and remediation activities.
- Review and improve existing tax processes, controls and governance.
- Act as the key point of contact for tax-related matters across the business.
- Manage relationships with external advisers and relevant authorities.
- Provide practical tax guidance to finance and operational stakeholders.
- Support future growth initiatives, restructurings and acquisitions where required.

Candidate Profile
We're keen to speak with individuals who can demonstrate:
- Strong UK VAT experience.
- Strong UK corporation tax exposure.
- Experience operating within complex multi-entity environments.
- A proactive and hands-on approach to problem solving.
- The ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities.
- Experience improving processes, controls and reporting frameworks.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
Preferred Background
- CTA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification.
- Experience within industry, practice or a combination of both.
- Exposure to PE-backed, acquisitive or fast-growth businesses.
- Knowledge of areas such as VAT grouping, partial exemption, capital allowances, tax risk management or transaction-related tax matters would be advantageous.
