Interim Technical Accounting Lead
West Yorkshire
Hybrid Working
6-9 Month FTC or Day Rate Contract
Competitive Day Rate / Generous FTC Package
A growing international business is seeking an experienced Interim Technical Finance Specialist to support a number of high-profile finance transformation and controls projects. This is a fantastic opportunity for a technically strong finance professional to make an immediate impact within a large, complex organisation that is enhancing its financial control environment and investing in process improvement initiatives. The role offers hybrid working and could potentially develop into a permanent opportunity for the right individual.
This is a highly visible role with significant exposure to senior stakeholders globally, requiring someone who can quickly integrate into a fast-paced environment, build relationships and deliver results from day one. The business is looking for an energetic, proactive individual who enjoys solving problems, driving improvements and taking ownership of key projects. The role is based on technical accounting, controls, risk management, process improvement and finance transformation activities rather than traditional month-end responsibilities.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
