Interim Senior Technical Lead - Waste & Resources
£550-£600 a day inside IR35
2 days in office per week, remainder from home
Panoramic Associates is currently working with a Local Authority client to facilitate the appointment of an experienced Senior Technical Lead to provide specialist expertise and pace across various critical waste projects and programmes, contract management, and service improvement priorities.
Responsibilities of the Role:
- Lead and drive delivery across key waste and resources programmes, ensuring timelines, risks and dependencies are actively managed.
- Provide technical oversight and assurance across the Resources & Waste Delivery Plan and associated workstreams/governance.
- Support key contract activity (including extension planning and/or re-procurement) and ensure contract performance and project impacts are understood.
- Lead/advise on workstreams linked to legislative and policy change impacting local authority waste services (e.g., DRS, ETS and related reforms).
- Work closely with service leadership and group leaders to ensure priorities are clear and delivery remains on track.
- Support capability building and development within the team through coaching/knowledge transfer where required.

To be successful in the role you will have:
- Significant technical and operational experience within local authority waste / resources services.
- Proven experience supporting/leading complex programmes and projects in a public sector environment.
- Strong understanding of waste contracts, budgets, savings programmes and governance.
- Experience working with senior stakeholders, including members and external partners.
- A relevant waste qualification (or equivalent professional background).

Next Steps
This role is an initial 6-month contract with likely extension, offering £550-£600 per day Inside IR35 (dependent on experience). You will be required to be in the office 2 days per week, with the remainder remote.
