Exciting opportunity for an experienced leader to join our team as Interim Virtual School Head (12 months fixed term). In this pivotal role, you will ensure that looked after children and those known to social care are prioritised in their educational experiences. You will work closely with schools and key partners to challenge and support them in providing the best educational provisions for Nottinghamshire’s looked after children, enabling them to thrive and achieve good progress.
As the Interim Virtual School Head, your key responsibilities will include:
- Championing Change: Carry out local authority statutory responsibilities to ensure looked after children are a priority.
- Promoting Inclusivity: Foster inclusive practices with schools, settings, and stakeholders to support the educational needs of children.
- Representing the Authority: Act as the local authority and Corporate Parent representative on matters related to exclusions, attendance, attainment, and Personal Education Plans for looked after children.

To Succeed In This Role, You Will Need
- Educational Expertise: A strong background in education, social care, or a related field.
- Leadership Experience: Proven experience in leading teams and driving educational initiatives.
- Knowledge of Legislation: Familiarity with statutory regulations and policies related to looked after children.
