Interim Wholesale Corporate and Institutional Product Lead

International Bank - UK-based

THE OPPORTUNITY:

Our client is an ambitious, internationally focused bank that combines the discipline of a longstanding banking institution with the pace and product mindset of a next-generation financial services business. It is looking for a senior product leader to strengthen its proposition for corporate and institutional customers, particularly global fintech and digital asset businesses, whose banking needs are complex, international and often poorly served by conventional providers.

This is not a narrow product-management assignment: you will help define the strategy, build operating discipline, engage directly with clients, shape the product portfolio, and carry propositions from initial insight through delivery and commercialisation. Target customers require tailored propositions spanning money movement, treasury, cash management, investments and cross-border banking. You will have real autonomy to shape both the role and the proposition, moving beyond standard large-bank product catalogues to build something commercially credible and differentiated.

THE ROLE:

You will own the corporate and institutional side of the bank's product business and act as the senior product authority for this area.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

  • Define the wholesale product strategy, roadmap and operating discipline for the function, and lead delivery of the products that are missing.
  • Own products across their full lifecycle; design, delivery, commercialisation and marketing, bringing financial ownership into the product team alongside Finance.
  • Engage directly with senior executives at corporate, fintech and digital-asset clients to diagnose real needs and shape propositions the bank can actually deliver, working with Marketing on go-to-market.
  • Build institutional product knowledge across treasury and cash management, money movement, investments and cross-border propositions, and stay technically fluent enough to work with Engineering and challenge delivery assumptions.
  • Initial priorities: assess the existing proposition, validate demand with clients and stakeholders, build a prioritised roadmap, and establish a disciplined operating rhythm across Product, Technology, Finance, Sales and Marketing.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

  • Substantial product leadership experience in corporate, wholesale or institutional banking, with a track record of building or materially reshaping propositions rather than maintaining them.
  • Experience taking products from customer insight and strategy through delivery and commercialisation, and credibility with senior banking, fintech or digital-asset executives.
  • Comfortable working across Product, Technology, Operations, Finance, Sales and Marketing, ideally with experience in a fast-moving organisation with imperfect infrastructure.
  • Operates as a peer to senior leadership, prioritises rigorously, and is comfortable saying no when requests distract from agreed outcomes.
  • Intellectually honest, low ego and hands-on, effective as a senior individual contributor before building a larger team.
  • Combines deep banking product knowledge with the curiosity and adaptability to serve unconventional clients.
