Interim Workday Change Lead

Location: North London (Hybrid)
Contract Length: 12-18 Months
Day Rate: Competitive (Outside IR35 subject to assessment)

The Opportunity

Our client, a leading consultancy, is seeking an experienced Workday Change Lead to support the delivery of a major Workday transformation programme for a complex organisation undergoing significant business and people change.

This role will play a critical part in ensuring successful adoption of Workday across HR, Payroll, and wider business functions. Working alongside programme leadership, HR stakeholders, and system integrators, you will design and deliver the change strategy, drive stakeholder engagement, and ensure the organisation is fully prepared for the transition to new processes, ways of working, and technology.

This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned change professional with a strong track record of delivering large-scale Workday implementations within complex corporate environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the end-to-end change management strategy for a major Workday implementation.
  • Lead stakeholder mapping, impact assessments, and organisational readiness activities.
  • Design and deliver communications, engagement, and adoption plans across multiple business functions.
  • Conduct change impact assessments and translate findings into actionable interventions.
  • Partner closely with HR, Programme Management, Workday functional teams, and senior business stakeholders.
  • Establish change networks and champion communities to support adoption.
  • Develop and oversee training strategies and user enablement activities.
  • Track change adoption metrics and prepare regular reporting for programme governance forums.
  • Provide coaching and support to leaders and managers through periods of organisational change.
  • Identify and mitigate people-related risks that could impact programme success.

Required Experience

  • Proven experience leading change for Workday implementations within large and complex organisations.
  • Deep understanding of organisational change management methodologies.
  • Strong experience delivering change across HR, Payroll, Talent, Workforce Management, or Finance functions.
  • Demonstrable success driving user adoption and business readiness for enterprise system implementations.
  • Experience conducting stakeholder analysis, impact assessments, and change readiness evaluations.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to influence senior executives and operate effectively within programme environments.
  • Previous consultancy experience highly desirable.

Preferred Background

  • Experience working on end-to-end Workday deployments involving multiple modules.
  • Familiarity with Prosci, ADKAR, or equivalent change frameworks.
  • Experience operating within highly matrixed organisations.
  • Strong workshop facilitation and executive-level presentation skills.
