Mid Weight Interior Designer

Up to £45,000 + benefits | West London | Hybrid

mustard are partnering with a small, highly design-focused architecture and interior design studio in West London who are doing some rather interesting things.

Their bread and butter is high-end residential — think beautifully considered London homes, private residences and country properties where architecture, interiors, materials and craftsmanship all need to work together.

This isn't interiors by numbers.

The studio takes a much more considered approach to its projects, with a real focus on materiality, proportion, detail and context. The sort of work where a stone isn't just “a nice stone” and a piece of joinery isn't just something you draw on a plan. Everything has a reason for being there.

And then there's Scotland.

The team is currently working on a one-off mixed-use project at one of the world's most famous golf clubs, bringing together in a very different setting from the usual West London townhouse.

So, yes — there is plenty of London residential work. But there is also the opportunity to get involved in something considerably more unusual.

What will you actually be doing?

As a Mid Weight Interior Designer, you'll be involved across the project rather than being parked in one particular corner of the design process.

You'll get stuck into:

  • Developing concepts and design schemes from the early stages.
  • Producing presentations, moodboards, material palettes and design proposals.
  • Developing FF&E selections, sourcing furniture, lighting, fabrics, finishes and those all-important details.
  • Working with materials and suppliers to help turn the design into something tangible.
  • Developing layouts and interior details alongside the architectural team.
  • Producing and coordinating design information as projects move forward.
  • Working with contractors, consultants, makers and suppliers to make sure the design survives contact with reality.
  • Getting involved in bespoke joinery, finishes and craftsmanship where the project demands it.
  • Contributing creatively to projects rather than simply being handed a brief and told to colour it in.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

The studio is small enough that you'll see a lot.

You'll be close to the senior team, involved in design conversations and able to have a genuine influence on the work — rather than spending the next two years producing the same bathroom elevations on repeat.

Who are we looking for?

Someone with solid Mid Weight experience in high-end residential interiors who knows their way around the design process and is ready to take on more responsibility.

You'll ideally have experience with:

  • High-end residential interiors.
  • Concept and design development.
  • FF&E and material sourcing.
  • Presentations and client-facing design information.
  • AutoCAD and the usual Adobe Creative Suite suspects.
  • Working with suppliers, contractors and specialist makers.
  • Developing design ideas into properly resolved interiors.

But personality matters here too.

They're looking for someone curious, collaborative and genuinely interested in design. Someone who notices things. Someone who gets excited by a beautiful piece of stone, a clever joinery detail or finding the right fabric for a room — rather than simply being excited when the deadline gets moved.

The deal

You'll be joining a studio where quality matters more than quantity, working on a genuinely varied portfolio of high-end residential projects alongside some much more unusual work.

The role offers up to £45,000, depending on experience, with a hybrid working model that gives you flexibility while still keeping you connected to the studio and the wider team.

If you're a Mid Weight Interior Designer who wants to work on thoughtful, beautifully detailed residential projects — with the opportunity to occasionally escape London and work on something completely different — this could be a very good next move.
