Midweight Interior Designer – Workplace

Location: London
Salary: £45,000
Working Pattern: Hybrid – 3 days in the studio / 2 days from home
Hours: 9:30am – 6:00pm
Holiday: 22 days + bank holidays

The Opportunity

We are working with a highly regarded London design studio looking to appoint a talented Midweight Interior Designer to join its workplace interiors team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a creative designer who enjoys developing strong concepts and design narratives and wants to work on high-quality commercial workplace projects.

The studio is particularly interested in someone who can bring strong creative and conceptual design skills, while also having the Revit capability to develop their ideas effectively as projects progress.

You will join a collaborative design environment and work alongside experienced architects and interior designers on a range of exciting commercial office and workplace schemes.

The Role

As a Midweight Interior Designer, you will be involved across the design process, with a particular focus on the creative and concept stages of workplace projects.

  • Developing creative concepts and design narratives for commercial workplace projects
  • Producing mood boards, material palettes, precedent studies and presentation packages
  • Translating client briefs into engaging and considered workplace environments
  • Developing space plans and test fits
  • Producing design information and drawing packages using Revit
  • Selecting finishes, furniture and materials
  • Preparing and contributing to client presentations
  • Working closely with senior designers, architects and the wider project team
  • Coordinating design information with consultants and other disciplines
  • Helping develop projects from initial concept through the later design stages
  • Maintaining a strong level of design quality and attention to detail throughout

About You

We are looking for a designer with approximately 3–6 years' professional experience, ideally with a background in commercial workplace interiors.

You should have:

  • Strong experience designing commercial office/workplace environments
  • Excellent creative and concept design skills
  • The ability to develop a strong design story from initial brief through to presentation
  • Good space planning skills
  • Strong visual and presentation abilities
  • Good working knowledge of Revit
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite
  • A good understanding of materials, finishes and furniture
  • Confidence working collaboratively within a wider design team
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • A portfolio demonstrating high-quality workplace projects and strong conceptual thinking
