Role Description
This is a full-time Intermediate Building Services Electrical Design Engineer role based in Gateshead. The individual in this role will develop electrical building services designs, including calculations, layouts, and specifications for power distribution, lighting, and associated systems. - Collaborating with mechanical and other design engineers
- Coordinating with project teams and external stakeholders
- Contributing to sustainable and cost-effective design solutions
- Reviewing drawings and technical documents
- Supporting design revisions
- Assisting in project meetings and site visits as required

The role also involves ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations, contributing to quality assurance processes, and supporting junior team members where appropriate.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Electrical Design and Electrical Engineering for building services projects.
- Solid Design Engineering capabilities and understanding of electricity principles as applied to building systems.
- Expertise in Power Distribution design, including load assessments, distribution boards, and cabling strategies.
- Relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification in electrical or building services engineering.
- Experience working in building services or MEP consultancy environments, ideally at intermediate engineer level.
- Familiarity with UK building regulations, industry standards, and sustainable design practices.
- Proficiency with relevant design software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, calculation software) and strong technical report-writing skills.
- Effective communication, teamwork, and time-management skills, with the ability to manage workloads.
