Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting and executing purchasing activities within an assigned area, primarily involving routine and moderate-complexity requirements. The role sources goods and services, conducts basic price and supplier analysis, supports negotiations and contract documentation, and helps ensure purchases are delivered accurately, timely, and at best value. Working with guidance from more experienced procurement professionals, the Buyer develops procurement knowledge and capabilities while providing responsive service and support to internal customers.

Location

Candidates must reside, or be willing to relocate, within approximately 90 minutes of the Europe North Area Office in High Wycombe, United Kingdom. Minimum 3 days a week in the office is required. Current legal right to work in the UK is mandatory; candidates who do not meet it will not be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Complete assigned purchasing requests, including sourcing activities, price analysis, supplier comparison, and purchase order follow-up.
  • Create, review, and process purchase orders accurately and in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Monitor open orders, follow up with suppliers, and help resolve delivery or order-related issues.
  • Support the sourcing of goods and services through the procurement process.
  • Assist with supplier communications, commercial discussions, and contract documentation.
  • Provide procurement support to internal customers by explaining processes, resolving purchasing issues, and providing product or supplier information.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Support supplier performance follow-up and help address service or delivery concerns.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier information, and purchasing documentation.
  • Contribute to special projects and process improvement initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Approximately 2+ years of purchasing, procurement, sourcing, supply chain, or related experience.
  • Understanding of purchasing principles and procurement processes.
  • Strong organisational and analytical skills.
  • Experience using procurement systems, ERP platforms, or similar business applications.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
  • Strong customer service, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple requests and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluent English, both written and spoken.

Preferred

  • Portuguese proficiency strongly preferred.
  • Additional Europe North Area language skills considered an advantage.
  • Experience in an international or multicultural environment.
  • Progress toward a professional procurement qualification such as CIPS.
