The Company

An established Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health consultancy based near Winchester is looking to strengthen its electrical engineering team with an Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer.

The consultancy has around 28 staff and a well-established project portfolio covering London, the Home Counties and the South of England. Projects range from individual homes through to large-scale developments in excess of GBP100m.

Residential work represents a significant percentage of the business, with additional experience across commercial, healthcare, education, leisure, industrial and heritage projects.

The successful candidate will join an established electrical team and work alongside mechanical, public health and CAD professionals.

The Role

As an Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering electrical building services design across a varied range of projects.

You will work closely with clients, contractors and other members of the design team, contributing to projects from initial design through to completion. The role offers the opportunity to take increasing responsibility for your own projects while continuing to develop your technical knowledge.

Requirements

  • Relevant degree, HNC, HND or equivalent qualification
  • Previous experience in electrical building services design
  • Experience working within an MEP consultancy or similar environment
  • Good understanding of electrical design principles
  • Experience producing electrical designs and calculations
  • Knowledge of relevant British Standards and Building Regulations
  • AutoCAD and/or Revit experience
  • Good communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage your own workload and meet deadlines
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential
