The Role

This position will be part of the Mapletree Internship Programme.  You will support the asset management team in overseeing the student housing portfolio. You will gain deep exposure to the entire lifecycle of student accommodation, including peak leasing seasons, summer turnarounds and annual budget planning. This role provides hands-on experience in real estate finance, operations, and long-term strategic value creation.

Job Responsibilities

  • Review monthly and quarterly property financial statements, track budget variances, and analyze operational KPIs
  • Monitor weekly leasing velocity, occupancy targets, and marketing campaigns during peak university booking seasons
  • Gather data on competing student assets, regional university enrollment trends, and local rental pricing benchmarks
  • Help track energy efficiency data, carbon reduction initiatives, and community-focused student wellbeing programmes
  • Assist in the preparation of annual and quarterly reports, presentations, and portfolio performance reports
  • Partner with the Investment team to share operational insights and underwriting assumptions for prospective new student housing assets
  • Coordinate with the Finance team to ensure accurate cash flow forecasting, timely invoice processing, and seamless financial year-end reporting

  • Undergraduates in Accountancy, Business, Real Estate, Economics, or its equivalent.
  • Must be analytical and proficient in MS Excel and PowerPoint applications.
  • A strong interest in real estate and the Purpose Built Student Accommodations sector (PBSA)
  • Excellent communication, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage varied workloads
