Job Title: Intern – External Communications Specialist

Location: Basingstoke

Role Type: 12-month industrial placement

Job Summary:

As an External Communications Intern at Honeywell Aerospace, you will help to tell our story to our external stakeholders and the media. You will play a key role in content creation and editorial support, while collaborating with wider marketing, internal and social media teams to leverage our news across our company channels.

This is a hybrid role, 3 days at the office + 2 days work from home, when projects allow, however, you will start the role full time in the office for the first few weeks, for us to support your learning, and be expected to work from the office during training times.

This role is part of our University Relations program, designed to help students and recent graduates launch their careers with hands-on experience, mentorship, and opportunities for growth within Honeywell. This internship is set up for 12 months to cover a sandwich placement starting in summer 2027, with the opportunity for a permanent opportunity once you graduate in 2029.

Honeywell Aerospace:

Join a company that's reintroducing itself to the aviation community we've helped advance for more than a century. At Honeywell Aerospace, we're launching as an independent, publicly traded aerospace and defence company built on a legacy of operational excellence and mission-focused execution.

Our new brand identity pairs that heritage with real momentum, as we build technology that helps pilots navigate with confidence, aircraft operate more efficiently, and operators stay ahead of change. With our systems on board 90% of the world's aircraft, your work here has reach that's rare to find anywhere else.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
