Position Description
The internship role will be based at Marriott’s European headquarter offices in London and will provide support to Marriott International’s Hotel Development Team in the UK and Ireland specifically and EMEA more generally. The role focuses on various elements of the development process for new hotel development projects as well as various development related special projects. Specific responsibilities will include the following:
- Extract, analyze and present data points on market information (STR, Salesforces, Tableau etc.) for various team members
- Assist in the preparation of various marketing and presentational materials relating to development in EMEA
- Help screen initial project leads to determine viability and brand fit
- Present analytical results in a manner appropriate for senior management’s decision-making (both orally and in writing)
- Coordinate with other departments to exchange information as needed
- Assist in various deal related activity as needed
- Work on multiple projects simultaneously, independently or as part of a team
- Attend and participate in meetings with the development team on an as needed basis (primarily in the UK)
- Help qualify hotel development leads

Qualifications
- Enjoys and is comfortable building relationships
- Good analytical and research skills
- Excellent spreadsheet skills (Excel) and proficiency in word processing
- Strong presentation software skills (PowerPoint) – Creativity is encouraged and desired
- A strong command of the English language, both spoken and written. Knowledge of an additional European language would be ideal
- Attention to detail and follow-through are essential
- Ability to work independently (self-starter) and as part of a team, and communicate effectively with senior management
- Understanding of P&L statements and/or cashflows for hotels is a plus
