About the Role
World Nuclear Association is the trade association representing the global nuclear industry. Our mission is to facilitate the growth of the nuclear sector by connecting players across the value chain, representing the industry’s position in key world forums, and providing information and influencing key audiences. Our membership is made up of more than 270 companies based in 44 countries across all continents, with the Secretariat based in Central London.
This is a great opportunity for a 1-year internship for a Masters’ Degree student, or postgraduate with strong analytical ability, intellectual curiosity, and good organizational skills, to support our Policy and Industry Engagement team at World Nuclear Association.
Key Responsibilities and Skills
Data Analysis
- Gather and consolidate data from a range of internal and external sources
- Clean, structure, and analyze datasets, and present findings in a clear, accessible, and engaging way
Analytical Research
- Support the design and organization of surveys and questionnaires, analyze results, and interpret the findings to produce organizational outputs such as reports and papers
- Help prepare and update existing reports, briefings, and presentations – drafting content, creating charts, and producing professional materials that communicate findings clearly

General
- Work with colleagues across World Nuclear Association in the relevant topic areas
- Help prepare for, and attend, Working Group and high-level meetings with professionals across the relevant topics
- Support project management tasks, including tracking milestones, maintaining documentation, and improving the team's information-sharing systems
Working Areas
The internship may support one or more of the following areas. Prior knowledge of these topics is advantageous though not essential:
- Policy and nuclear development
- Mining and nuclear fuel services
- Nuclear safety and licensing
- Project development, supply chain, and manufacturing
- Economics and finance
Profile
- Current Undergraduate seeking a year in industry, or a Masters/PhD student, or recent Graduate, in subjects such as Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Physics, Energy Policy, International Relations, or a related quantitative or analytical discipline
- Excellent research and analytical skills, with the ability to collect, structure, and interpret data from multiple sources
- Strong written English and a keen eye for detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
- Comfortable working with data; an interest in data analysis or visualization tools is an advantage
- A digital native who can quickly pick up new platforms and tools, with the confidence to self-teach
- Able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, international environment, demonstrating initiative, problem-solving, and strong interpersonal skills, specifically the ability to communicate at an executive level

Position Details
- Location: London office
- Hours: Approximately 20-35 hours per week, with a flexible schedule to accommodate academic commitments
