Due to continued business growth and increasing demand from our customers, we are excited to be expanding our Sales team. This role presents a fantastic opportunity to join a growing business, contribute to our ongoing success, and help us continue delivering an excellent level of service to both new and existing customers.
The position is office based and our offices are located in Farnborough, Hampshire.
The role offers a basic salary of £27,000, with the opportunity to achieve on-target earnings of up to £50,000. This provides a competitive overall package for a motivated sales professional, with earnings potential linked to performance and success in the role.

Starkwood Media Group has been delivering website design and digital solutions to independent vehicle dealers for over 25 years. The company specialises in bespoke and template websites for car, van, motorbike, motorhome and commercial vehicle dealers, as well as stock management, email marketing, finance integrations, and vehicle advertising services.
Job Overview
As a member of the sales team, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of customers and prospects to foster long-term success, generating new business opportunities through existing and new connections, and acting as the primary point of contact for your customers and prospects. This involves understanding customer needs and proposing appropriate software, or service solutions, to fit their business. You will contact and manage and renew existing customers using email, calls and video conferences on a regular basis, developing a strong and mutually beneficial relationship, whilst delivering excellent customer service.
You will be targeted on both retention and new business lead generation and will receive both commission and bonuses for meeting target, in addition to your basic salary. To achieve this, you will need to understand the operation and benefits of our market-leading website design and additional products and services that we offer. This requires you to be dedicated, enthusiastic, fast learning and have or develop knowledge about business processes such as, but not limited to Website design trends, SEO, Google Analytics, inventory management including stocks feeds from and to partner DMS systems.
As an Internal Account Manager, you will be a link between sales and other departments in the business. Have a keen interest in supporting the product and development teams with new initiatives. Where required, support the training of new products to other members of the sales team in time for product launches.

Key Responsibilities
- Maintaining positive relationships with customers within your assigned territory, across all industries that we serve, and developing opportunities for sales to these customers to meet, or exceed, the sales targets set for your territory.
- Resign Dealers that are out of contract to minimise attrition.
- Introduce commercial partners to our dealer base, eg Finance and DMS partners.
- Support the Field based Sales dept and the end-to-end sales process to achieve new business sales and exceed team targets.
- Working with the marketing team on existing and new campaigns as well as supporting new initiatives for our website and other relevant channels to reach our target market.
- Attend relevant trade shows as well as conferences and events to maximise the opportunity of connecting with prospects and existing customers.
- Work closely with the product and development teams on new initiative projects as well as all new products to ensure you collaborate from an early stage through to launch of new products.
- Have a strong knowledge of the products, features, services and benefits offered by Starkwood Media Group, and where required, help to produce sales related literature.
- Produce and deliver training to other sales team members on relevant projects.
- Collaborate with all departments to ensure we find the best solution for Starkwood and our customers including involvement in price reviews of products and services.
- Build and maintain territory calling plans to ensure existing customer contact is maintained.
- Become involved in ad-hoc tasks as required.
Qualifications Required
Essential – Desirable – Educated to A-level or equivalent.
Experience and Skills Required
Essential - Experience as an Account Manager/New Business or similar role
Essential - Hands-on experience with multiple sales techniques
Essential - Experience with software services and ability to adapt to new systems
Essential - Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Essential - Ability to deliver engaging presentations
Desirable - Proven track record of achieving sales and or Retention targets
Desirable - Familiarity with MS Excel
Desirable - Understanding of sales performance metrics
Suitable for someone who…
Has worked in an Account Manager and sales environment with a proven track record in maintaining strong customer relationships, generating sales opportunities and achieving sales targets. Has the ability to form new relationships with customers and prospects using methods including visits, emails and phone calls. The ability to sell the benefits of website services including the value proposition and return on investment. Self-starter who can set and achieve goals with the ability to work to a long-term strategy. There will be a requirement to travel therefore a current clean driving license is required. Able to work autonomously, with minimal supervision and be an excellent time manager who can work strategically.
