Internal Account Manager
Location: Barnsley
Salary: £35,000 + Bonus + Career Progression
Are you a people person who thrives on building relationships? Do you enjoy developing existing accounts, spotting new opportunities and working closely with customers to help grow their business?
We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established, market-leading manufacturer for an Internal Account Manager to join their successful Commercial team based in Barnsley.
You'll be working with an established customer base, partnering with five experienced Area Sales Managers to nurture relationships, develop accounts and identify opportunities for growth. It's all about thinking outside the box, providing excellent customer service and becoming a trusted partner to your customers.
The role has scope to develop into an Area Sales Manager role in time so this suits someone who would love to progress into this type of role in the future.
Requirements of an Internal Account Manager:
- Managing and developing existing customer accounts to increase revenue.
- Building strong, long-term customer relationships that encourage repeat business.
- Contacting warm leads and re-engaging lapsed customers to win back business.
- Working closely with five Area Sales Managers to identify opportunities within their territories.
- Following up enquiries, quotations and sample requests to convert opportunities into sales.
- Keeping customer information up to date using the CRM system.
- Sharing valuable market insight and customer feedback with the wider commercial team.
- Collaborating with Customer Services and other departments to deliver an outstanding customer experience.

Although this is primarily an office-based role, there will be opportunities to accompany the Area Sales Managers on customer visits.
Responsibilities of an Internal Account Manager:
- Previous Account Management, Internal Sales or Business Development experience.
- Experience managing and growing customer accounts.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- A confident, friendly and engaging personality.
- The ability to think on your feet and overcome objections.
- Experience using CRM systems.
- A proactive, positive attitude with a genuine desire to develop your career.
- A full UK driving licence would be advantageous, as there may be opportunities to visit customers alongside the Area Sales Managers.

Package
- Salary up to £35,000
- Bonus of up to 20% (split between financial performance and behavioural objectives)
