Who We Are

The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. is a leading global financial services firm providing investment banking, securities and investment management services to a substantial and diversified client base that includes corporations, financial institutions, governments and high-net-worth individuals. Headquartered in New York, the firm maintains offices in London, Birmingham, Frankfurt, Tokyo, Hong Kong and other major financial centres worldwide.

Our culture is grounded in teamwork, innovation and meritocracy. We invest in our people through collaborative working environments, wellbeing programmes, and hybrid and flexible working options designed to support colleagues in achieving their professional and personal goals.

Division and Scope

  • Global Banking & Markets: Sales, trading, insurance, investment banking, and related control functions including Operations, Technology, Product Control, Divisional Compliance and Research
  • Asset & Wealth Management: Private Wealth Management, Asset Management and Merchant Banking
  • Federation: Risk Management, Finance, Corporate Governance, Legal, Compliance, Regulatory Reporting, Human Capital Management, Services and the Executive Office

The Team

Internal Audit helps protect the assets, reputation and sustainability of the organisation. As the third line of defence, we independently assess the firm’s control environment, including its governance, risk management, capital and financial crime frameworks.

Our role extends beyond identifying control weaknesses. We engage constructively with management to evaluate risk, advise on sustainable control solutions and assess whether remediation is implemented effectively.

What You'll Do

Across the audit lifecycle, you will:

  • Contribute to audits from planning and scoping through fieldwork, issue validation and reporting.
  • Own discrete workstreams, taking increasing responsibility as your experience and credibility grow.
  • Design and execute test programmes that assess the design and operating effectiveness of key controls.
  • Document analysis, testing and conclusions clearly and precisely in line with audit methodology.
  • Evaluate the significance of risks and issues and follow up constructively on remediation.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
