Our group has unique insight on the financial industry and its products and operations. We’re looking for detail-oriented team players who have an interest in financial markets and want to gain insight into the firm’s operations and control processes.
The primary role of Internal Audit is to help protect the assets, reputation and sustainability of the organization. We ensure that Goldman Sachs maintains effective controls by assessing the reliability of financial reports, monitoring the firm’s compliance with laws and regulations, and advising management on developing smart control solutions. Our role extends beyond identifying control weaknesses. We engage constructively with management to evaluate risk, advise on sustainable control solutions and assess whether remediation is implemented effectively

- Own discrete workstreams, taking increasing responsibility as your experience and credibility grow.
- Design and execute test programmes that assess the design and operating effectiveness of key controls.
- Document analysis, testing and conclusions clearly and precisely in line with audit methodology.
- Evaluate the significance of risks and issues and follow up constructively on remediation.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
