About the Role
A well-established organisation is seeking an experienced internal audit professional to join a growing client-facing team. The role offers a varied mix of internal audit, controls and wider risk-focused assignments across different organisations and operating environments. You will take responsibility for defined areas of work, contribute to planning and reporting, and work directly with stakeholders throughout the engagement lifecycle.
This would suit someone who enjoys hands-on audit delivery but also wants broader exposure to advisory work, stakeholder interaction and the development of junior colleagues.
What you will be doing
- Deliver internal audit and controls-based assignments from planning through to reporting.
- Contribute to scoping, risk assessment and the design of testing approaches.
- Carry out testing, walkthroughs and evidence review across financial, operational and compliance processes.
- Identify control weaknesses, assess the underlying risk and help shape practical recommendations.
- Prepare clear working papers and draft sections of client-facing reports.
- Discuss findings with stakeholders and support the communication of conclusions in a clear, constructive way.
- Manage your own workload across several concurrent pieces of work and keep senior colleagues updated on progress.
- Support and review the work of more junior team members, providing day-to-day guidance where needed.
- Contribute to wider team initiatives and occasional proposal or business-development activity.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
