About the Role
We’re seeking a Director to join our Internal Audit Investment Management team in Glasgow. This role leads assurance coverage for the Morgan Stanley Investment Management (MSIM) business across multiple jurisdictions, each with distinct regulatory requirements.
Team & Purpose
The Internal Audit Division (IAD) drives focus on vulnerabilities by delivering an independent, informed, and objective view of key risks facing Morgan Stanley. Key responsibilities include:
- Independently assessing the effectiveness of risk management, governance, and control systems
- Providing strategic insights to foster continuous improvement
- Conducting a range of assurance activities across front, middle, and back offices

What You’ll Do
In this Director role within Business Audit, you will:
- Identify risks and prioritize key coverage areas to focus audit efforts
- Lead assurance activities (e.g., audits, continuous monitoring, and closure verification) to assess control environments
- Facilitate risk conversations with stakeholders, communicating risks, impacts, and management effectiveness in a clear, timely, and structured manner
- Manage multiple deliverables aligned with team priorities
- Provide training and feedback, both formal and on-the-job, to develop self and peers

What You’ll Bring
Experience & Qualifications:
- At least 4 years’ relevant experience in internal audit or risk-related roles, typically at the AVP/Director level
- Deep understanding of investment management and key regulatory frameworks (e.g., FINRA, SEC, global standard-setters)
- Strong expertise in audit methodologies, including:
- Risk assessments
- Planning & testing
- Continuous monitoring
- Reporting processes
- Ability to pose meaningful, risk-based questions, synthesize diverse viewpoints, and adapt messaging accordingly
- Data analytics and AI proficiency—capability to:
- Interpret complex data sources
- Identify key insights
- Leverage data-driven testing approaches
- Commitment to an inclusive workplace culture
- Preferred: Relevant certifications (CIA, CPA, CFA, CAIA, or equivalent)
