About the Team
The Risk Consulting team provides:
- Outsourced/co-sourced internal audit services
- Internal controls reviews
- SOX and UK Corporate Governance Code (Provision 29) readiness
- Enterprise risk management frameworks
- Combined assurance and external quality assessments
Primarily, we serve banking and financial services clients, but our engagements also include:
- Corporate governance reviews
- External quality assessments
- Risk-based advisory services
The team is growing rapidly, offering strong progression opportunities.
About the Role
As an Internal Audit Manager within the Banking Risk Consulting Team, your key responsibilities will include:
Core Responsibilities
- Planning, delivery, and finalisation of internal audit engagements
- Leading a team of Assistant Managers and Senior Consultants
- Presenting findings to Audit Committees for banking and building society clients
- Portfolio management, including:
- Overseeing Internal Audit plans & Risk Assessments
- Managing client engagements
- Preparing and delivering committee presentations & reporting
- Fieldwork oversight – Performance review of internal audit teams
- Operational support, such as:
- Preparation & review of draft internal audit reports
- Supporting junior team members (training, supervision)
- Client-facing duties:
- Conducting opening and closing meetings with Executive contacts (ExCo)
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
- Business development:
- Identifying opportunities for new work
- Leading client proposal/pitch preparation
- Quality & risk compliance:
- Ensuring adherence to standards and procedures

Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Holding one of the following professional qualifications:
- ACA
- CA
- ACCA
- IIA
- CII
- Experience in:
- Planning, delivering, and managing internal audit fieldwork
- Portfolio management (Banking & Financial Services Internal Audit clients)
- Specialist areas such as:
- Underwriting & Credit Risk Management
- Enterprise Risk Management
- Deposit & Card Operations
- Compliance Framework Reviews
- Third-Party Risk Management
- Payment Operations
- Strong understanding of:
- UK’s financial services regulations (specifically Banks, Building Societies, and non-bank lenders)
- Requirements under MCOBs for Regulated Loans
- Presentation experience, including:
- Reporting to Audit Committees
- Essential interpersonal, client handling, and project management skills
