Position for both London and Birmingham
DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES
A global leader in investment banking and financial services is seeking an experienced Internal Auditor to join the Corporate Treasury & Liquidity Risk Internal Audit team. In this role, you will conduct independent audits of the firm's treasury, liquidity, funding, and capital risk management frameworks, evaluating the design and effectiveness of related internal controls. You will perform detailed testing and walkthroughs of key treasury and liquidity risk processes, including liquidity stress testing, funding and financing activities, balance sheet management, interest rate risk, regulatory liquidity reporting, and capital adequacy frameworks, while identifying control gaps and recommending enhancements. This position requires close collaboration with stakeholders across Corporate Treasury, Risk, Finance, Regulatory Reporting, and business functions to assess adherence to regulatory requirements and control standards. You will prepare comprehensive audit reports, deliver clear and concise findings to senior management, and help ensure the firm remains aligned with global regulatory expectations. Staying informed on evolving treasury, liquidity, and prudential regulatory developments will also be key to succeeding in this role.

MUST-HAVES
- Approx. 3+ years of audit experience, ideally internal audit within global financial institutions.
- Strong background in risk identification, assessment, and evaluation of control design and operating effectiveness.
- Demonstrated experience in internal audit methodology, with the ability to contribute to audit engagements from planning through reporting.
- Ability to interpret and apply relevant regulatory requirements, guidance, and industry best practices.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and confidence to challenge senior stakeholders constructively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex audit issues and risks.

PLUSSES
- Proven track record auditing Corporate Treasury, Liquidity Risk, Asset & Liability Management (ALM), Capital Management, Funding, or related risk functions.
- Understanding of treasury and liquidity risk frameworks, prudential regulations, and governance best practices within financial services.
- Experience auditing key regulatory requirements such as LCR, NSFR, liquidity stress testing, recovery and resolution planning, or capital adequacy frameworks.
- Professional certifications such as CIA (Certified Internal Auditor), FRM (Financial Risk Manager), CFA, or similar.
- Chartered Accountant qualifications (ACCA, ACA) preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related discipline.
- Experience with global regulatory environments including FCA, PRA, Basel III/IV liquidity requirements, Federal Reserve regulations, or equivalent prudential frameworks.
