Specialty Insurance | Internal Audit Manager | Contractor

A specialty Insurer is looking for an Internal Audit Manager to join their team on a contracting basis.

What you'll be doing:

  • Helping shape and deliver the risk-based audit plan, keeping it aligned with the business's goals and regulatory expectations
  • Mentoring and coaching junior auditors, reviewing their draft work and giving them the feedback that helps them grow
  • Getting under the skin of key risks, processes and controls through documentation review and stakeholder conversations
  • Reviewing draft audit reports and presenting key findings and recommendations to management
  • Working across departments to make sure audit recommendations actually get implemented, not just filed away
  • Rolling your sleeves up for detailed end-to-end testing when needed
  • Keeping IA leadership in the loop with proactive updates
  • Bringing fresh ideas to the table to keep improving how the audit function operates

  • A degree (doesn't need to be finance-related)
  • A relevant professional qualification - ACA, CIA or similar
  • At least 8 years in internal audit, ideally with London market non-life insurance experience
  • Solid grounding in auditing standards, risk management and internal control frameworks
  • Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills
  • A pragmatic, forward-thinking mindset, equally comfortable zooming out for oversight or zooming in on the detail
  • Confident communication skills, written and verbal, with the interpersonal know-how to engage stakeholders and challenge management constructively where needed
  • A genuine team player
  • High integrity, professional courage, and real care in how you approach your work
