Internal Auditor - 9 month Fixed Term Contract

Who we are:

Triodos Bank is an award-winning organisation and one of Europe’s leading sustainable banks, whose mission is to make money work for positive social, environmental, and cultural change. We offer a wide range of banking services for people who want to use their money consciously – from current accounts through to investments and savings. We only finance companies, organisations and projects that benefit people and the environment.

Opportunity

As Internal Auditor, you will assist the Board, Audit Committee and senior management in fulfilling their responsibilities by providing analysis, advice and recommendations on the corporate governance structure, internal control environment, and compliance and risk management.

You will play a key role in delivering the TBUK Internal Audit plan, while also working as part of the wider Group Internal Audit team.

As Internal Auditor, you will proactively support the TBUK Director of Internal Audit and TBUK Senior Internal Auditor in discharging their responsibilities, including relationship management and governance reporting.

You will also act as a role model for Internal Audit and Triodos, both internally and externally.

This role offers the benefits of flexible hybrid working, with an expectation to be on our Bristol office 2 days a week and the option to work from home on the other days. It is a key role and a great opportunity to make a real impact within a values-led organisation.

Key responsibilities will require you to:

  • Contribute to the annual risk assessment to help identify and plan audits for the following year and three-year cycle.
  • Support the preparation and delivery of audit assignments across business lines and locations, identifying issues, suggesting solutions and ensuring audits are performed in line with the approved Internal Audit Plan and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Communicate audit findings and recommendations to the business, assist management in defining actions, and help prepare high-quality audit reports for management.
  • Monitor and report on the progress and status of audit actions, while proactively communicating progress and deliverables to stakeholders.
  • Develop your understanding of Internal Audit, including audit processes, procedures, manuals, tools, policy improvements and the use of data analytics to strengthen audit preparation and delivery.
  • Participate in special tasks, investigations, quality assurance and improvement activity, and contribute to the Internal Audit Subject Matter Leader programme in at least one risk category.
  • Assist with the creation of MI and reporting packs for governance committees, promote the Triodos brand and mission through professional engagement, and comply with all regulatory obligations and internal governance to support ethical behaviour and good customer outcomes.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
