About Us
This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing internal communications and engagement function at St Christopher’s.
We are on a journey to strengthen how we communicate, collaborate and engage across the organisation — helping colleagues feel more informed, connected and involved in the work we do. Our ambition is to make internal communications a more visible, creative and trusted part of everyday life at St Christopher’s, and this role will play an important part in helping us get there.
Our teams work across a wide range of services — from clinical care and research to fundraising, retail and community engagement — so we need communications that are clear, accessible and relevant to colleagues working in different settings.
This is an opportunity to help shape and elevate internal communications at a hospice that is committed to continuous improvement and delivering a great colleague experience.
Your New Role
As Internal Communications and Engagement Officer, you will support the delivery of clear, engaging and accessible internal communications across St Christopher’s.
Working closely with the Internal Communications and Engagement Manager, you will help colleagues across our diverse workforce feel informed, connected and engaged with our purpose, strategy and values. This is a hands-on role where you will create content, support day-to-day channel management and help bring organisational messages to life in ways that resonate with colleagues working in different settings, including clinical services, retail, fundraising and corporate functions.
You will take ownership of our regular staff communications, including producing our internal newsletter and keeping our intranet and other core channels up to date, ensuring colleagues can rely on a consistent flow of clear, timely and engaging information. Alongside this day-to-day ownership, you will also support the delivery of campaigns, projects and engagement activity across the organisation.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
